Saint Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of Sudan Established Diplomatic and Visa-Free Relations

His Excellency Mr. Ian Liburd, Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations and Mr. Ammar M.M. Mohammed, Chargé d’Affaires of The Republic of Sudan, signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations, as well as an Agreement on the abolition of the visa regime.

On February 24, a short ceremony was held at the Saint Kitts and Nevis New York Mission expressing the desire of both countries to strengthen the bonds of friendship between them.

Now citizens of these countries can stay up to 90 days without visas in both directions for holders of diplomatic, official and ordinary passports. Separately, representatives of the countries discussed the possibility of strengthening and developing economic and cultural ties. Diplomats also touched on areas of cooperation, natural resources, citizenship by investment, transport and a closer partnership between Africa and CARICOM.

The signing of the treaty increases the number of countries that citizens of Saint Kitts and Nevis can enter without a visa or without a visa on arrival. Now it is 162 countries.
