Bahrain Introduces "Golden Visas" For talented foreigners

Bahrain is taking steps towards economic growth and financial balance. For example, a golden permanent residence visa was recently introduced to attract talent and investment from abroad.

Under the old rules, foreigners can get a renewable visa that is only valid for a few years and is tied to employment and limits stay. With a golden visa, a foreigner will have the opportunity to enter and leave the country indefinitely, extend the visa for an indefinite period, as well as a residence permit for close family members.

In order to obtain a visa, a foreigner must have lived in Bahrain for at least 5 years and earn an average salary of at least 2,000 Bahraini dinars ($5,306) per month.

Retirees, talented people (who meet certain criteria), and those who own real estate above a certain value can apply for the visa program.

Bahrain is not the first country to offer talented people a golden visa. The United Arab Emirates has already begun to take active steps in this direction.

In principle, obtaining residency in another country is a fairly popular decision among foreigners who want to be confident in the future and not depend on unforeseen circumstances.
